Down by the river

I visiting a nearby river recently to see what photo opportunities I could find and I saw this beautiful hand crafted canoe. It was a tad small but it was very light and better looking than my plastic canoe. One problem though, it was too small to carry photo gear or another person.

The owner took my canoe out for a spin to try out a larger one, it turns out that he was a photographer too and was wanting something larger to carry his gear. I declined the offer to try his out as I wouldn’t even think of buying one that small.

I have a Wenonah Heron canoe which is 15 feet long but only weighs about 80 pounds which is light enough for me to handle by myself.
